"We were on the way to Elgol to do the boat trip to Loch Coruisk but had to stop for a couple of minutes while a JCB was digging by the side of the single track road. This guy was was installing a new phone cable so I had to step out of the car and grab the shot while I could as it was such a fantastic backdrop to the scene."

"I have tried to represent the distance of time in one photograph. The past represented by the ancient peat, the present by the tractor, and the future of energy creation by the wind turbines. The question mark is a subtle way of asking if it is right for Lewis's landscape to be given over to a wind farm. Man comes and man goes and he has a dramatic effect on the land. Natural processes only happen slowly."
