"Strathaven castle!

TS-E 24 f3.5L, bracketed shots taken at full shift left, and full shift right, the resulting images were then manually blended and stitched in Photoshop. I've decided to turn my lens towards my home towm, as I have never really made much of an effort to photograph it, perhaps because I've been looking at it for so long, and it really isn't a bad place to look at. Going to do a run of prints and cards, and try and punt them locally!

Did this on Saturday night, probably not the best idea, as some of the young team were kicking about, all completely pished. The usual banter ensued........"

The New Arrivals

The New Arrivals, originally uploaded by Chris Frear.

"I've waited three years to get this image.

A local hill shepherd tends to a Ewe and her newly born lambs on a Scottish Hillside this afternoon.

Having taken a photograph of the shepherd last week, he was fine with me being in the field as he tended to the Ewe. With his help she had just given birth to two lambs.

The first lamb covered in meconium (yellow colour) had become stuck in the birth canal with one leg and its head stuck out the ewe. Obviously in distress, we spotted the Ewe from the car in distress and managed to find the shepherd. He arrived in time to save the first now obviously weaker lamb as well as bringing its twin into the world. Following their birth, the two lambs and the ewe were taken back to the farm where an eye will be kept on them for a few days until the lambs are strong enough to go back out on the hills.

More images of rural life can be found on my main website at www.frearphoto.co.uk"

Edinburgh Impression

Edinburgh Impression, originally uploaded by Yin.Shen.

"So we had a little study trip to Edinburgh this Friday, half day wondering around the old town of Edinburgh, trying to find out which bit we can improve, and what can be done in an architectural way. But, the old town of Edinburgh is just too wonderful, almost perfect, I don't know what can be improved, yet, so this year, this project is gonna be tough.

I however, didn't just look at buildings, I took my cameras with me, as this was a perfect opportunity to take some photos, uh, it was a good.

More will follow"

Tay Bridge Dundee

Tay Bridge Dundee, originally uploaded by rg250871.

"Using the same trick as I used on the Forth Rail Bridge. After moving up to Dundee a few months ago, it's time I started exposing it.

This one has less frames as the battery gave up after 70 frames or so. I think my battery packs need replaced – they have nowhere near the same endurance as they used to.

Some minor work on dodging the lights down in places, but it’s more or less as it was.

65 exposures overlaid. 30 seconds each. F2.8. ISO 400."
