The problem that won't go AWAY

A homeless man rests his head on a rucksack and nurses a cigarette, sleeping on the sidewalk paving...outside the front of the Caledonian Hilton - a 5 star hotel off Princes Street. He had been moved further away from the front doors by hotel doormen and private security officers because he was "too close" to hotel guests as they entered and left the hotel and art gallery inside. Police then moved him again because he was "obstructing" the pedestrian walkway so he was told he was allowed to sit up against the metal railings out of foot traffic. Never once did anyone offer to help him find a place to sleep and stay out of the cold...jobless, homeless, and penniless he was unable to even leave Edinburgh and go home to Manchester,England. Passers by gave him hot coffee and cigarettes.

The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge over the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, to the east of the Forth Road Bridge, and 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of central Edinburgh. It was opened on 4 March 1890, and spans a total length of 2,528.7 metres (8,296 ft). It is often called the Forth Rail Bridge or Forth Railway Bridge to distinguish it from the Forth Road Bridge, although it has been called the "Forth Bridge" since its construction, and was for over seventy years the sole claimant to this name.

Processed to look vintage and resemble an image of one of the original briggers who built the Forth Rail Bridge

Perthshire Off Piste

e went for a walk in the Blair Atholl estate in Perthshire in blizzard like conditions. As we approached a farm house along the track we were following, I could see in the distance someone walking up a hill with a snow board. Presumably the son/daughter of the farmer, off out to take advantage of the long, gentle slope in their field. High up directly above the snow boarder, a buzzard was hovering, scanning the terrain. What a wonderful place to grow up!
