A flash in the dark

A flash in the dark, originally uploaded by gms.

"Something strange happened yesterday. The clouds, which are normally so low that the seagulls around here prefer to walk along the pavements, broke up to reveal a strange blue sky high up, causing a little alarm among the natives.

I didn't get out during the day for any photos but I decided to head for Portencross Castle in the evening for the glorious sunset. Being a man of poor timing though, it was nearly dark by the time I got there. So I made several long exposures and ran about the beach (in the pitch black, for there is no light) and set off my flash gun at various points. Setting of a flash in the pitch black doesn't half blind you though."
