Dracula's Castle

Dracula's Castle, originally uploaded by ClanUrbex.

"Slains Castle, Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

This is Bram Stoker's inspiration for dracula......most of this site is 16-17th century. The copyright for Bram Stoker's Dracula..............is owned by the US and remains in their public domain..

Outline Planning Permission was granted on this site 31/08/07.................to build 35 luxury apartments:(

Abandoned to time.....in 1925 by the owner, abandoned by Historic Scotland who in their legal responsibility were supposed to protect it and any site of national importance.............abandoned by Aberdeen Coucil Planning department by the grant of the permission and the abandoned by the Scottish Parliament and their failure to protect this Historic site of International importance.

I have checked with the Historic Scotland who have advised me that whilst Slains Castle appears on their register as a scheduled monument (protected by the full weight of the law) this applies to Old Slains Castle a site that has been known as Old Slains Castle for over 400 years and is now a big pile of rocks, from the earliest maps I have seen this site has been known as Slains Castle for over 400 years......I think there has been a huge miscarriage of justice.............this site is of more Inernational Historical importance than the old one. Historical Scotland are now VERY interested in this site.

Help Scotland save this Historic Monument............we need to overturn the planning application and have this site protected by law as a Scheduled Monument.

For Information on this site please see here:-

Loch Arklet , Same view... different rocks...

This one I loved because of the way the underwater section and the reflection of the sky have an even chance with the polorizer, due to the size of the lens...

Tin Church

Tin Church, originally uploaded by North Light.

"Syre Church, we took the shortest route to Ullapool from Thurso, this takes you down the beautiful Strathnaver, this was the location of some of the worst forced evictions of the Highland clearances in the early 19th century.
This beautiful old church is built of Corrugated iron sheets.

Scottish Deer

Scottish Deer, originally uploaded by MJ Mac.

"On a sunny but overcast day, "Big Boy" shown here was determined to be the star of the show. There were wild deer (2 more were in the distance) who approached us next to the main road. It was amazing to me that these wild animals would approach us without fear and also that there was no fence to keep them in (or more importantly, us out)."

the couple on the bridge.

"street photography
this shot was taken on the move, i stopped for honestly a second to take the photo i didnt want to miss the moment i would have been noticed and got quite a different result if i had hung around for more than a couple seconds. i think i used manual focus. I think what grabbed me was the way the two fit together like a proper couple they seem really close. The girls cross over leg is symettrical to the boys."
