"2008 Community Challenge: Week 2. A little delayed. Aberdeen is a harbour city, and this is the new building that makes sure all the ships get in and out of the harbour safely. It sits at the end of the beach, and at the mouth of the harbour, dominating the skyline."

"Culkein, Scotland
This is actually not a lake. But it's not visually connected to the ocean either. Still it's sea water in that "pond". There is a submontane, or an underground influx, hence the algaes. Although the Atlantic Ocean is really cold up North, It's a pleasure to take a swim there!

"Taken freehand with the ISO at 400 I'm not sure how well this has turned out. One thing I'm please with is the crop, I think I got it pretty much spot on."
"I've spent most of tonight resizing and preparing another batch of images to be submitted to a local shop which sells my work on canvas.
I've been planning on submitting the previous shot of this clock (with the same title) for quite some time, but since I wandered through Central Station on Saturday, I took another set of bracketed exposures to make a fresh HDR from.
I decided to convert this one to mono, since most of my HDR work is in, well, glorius, lurid, technicolour. A change is as good as a rest, they say."
"Well folks by the looks of things this may have been my last shoot with my D70 as this morning I think it may have died! After a tumble the mirror and sensor are now locked up and all I get is an error message I have tried changing the battery and memory card but aint getting any joy argh! Fingers crossed the home insurance will cover it!"
"Poor things had been out in that fog and frost all night. They didn't seem too bothered though. Part and parcel of being Scottish."

"A photo merge of 5 images was used to create this image of a winter storm brewing in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. Glencoe is a beautiful place (if a little foreboding at times), but with a dark history which you can really appreciate on days like when this was taken.
Taken from the hillside above the Kingshouse Hotel, near the West Highland Way"
"It was one of those mornings where the weather couldnt decide what to do!.. not unusual for Scotland.... it decided to rain, again!"
And of course the quirky....
